Top Journaling Tips

For those who are new to journaling, we have collated some top tips to make it a habit that you will fall in love with and help you achieve what you want to get out of your DreamKeeper.

1. Find a time each day which works for you
We'd recommend the morning as it's when your mind is at it's most lucid. Let the words fall out of your head into the paper and don't be afraid to let your inner child out! Setting the same time each day will help this become a lasting habit

2. Write every day
Even if you don't have anything to say, just start with a sentence and see where it goes. Some of the best journaling is done once a small block has been removed and lost thoughts can come sweeping through.

3. Don't filter your thoughts
Let them flow! Don't censor what you put on your page, empty your conscious mind and use the words to make sense of the unconscious. You'll be surprised at what sources of stress and pain can appear on the page allowing you to consciously explore ways of planning to overcome them.

4. Create an attitude of gratitude
Try to encompass into each journaling session elements of your life you are grateful for. This simple habit over time will change your outlook on life. Observe how positivity becomes the normal rather than the exception.

5. Carry your journal with you
You never know when the urge to journal will hit you. It could be on the commute to work, at the soft play area while the kids play or when out walking in nature. Seize the moment and jot down how you feel, what it is on your mind and you will have that moment to play back to yourself for years to come.

6. Don't write on the first page
If you're anything like us, that's way too much pressure! Turn over the page to the next fresh page and start your journaling there. You'll find the first sentences come much more naturally.

7. Find what works best for you
It's your DreamKeeper, a special block of you to fill and reflect on in years to come. A place to put your learnings and successes. The above are only tips for those to get started, you will find your own best use of your DreamKeeper and we're excited to be part of that journey and hope you share with us how you used it and where in the world your DreamKeeper went with you!
